My thanks to Securus Technologies for detecting that my daughter injured her right hand. My daughter can be wild at times. She has always wanted to be a boxer or a Kung Fu girl. She loves to break wood with her hands.Although she received formal training in the martial arts, she may have not gotten enough. In the workout area of the prison, she injured he hand. She was too ashamed to tell anyone, especially the authorities. She felt they would all laugh at her mistake. And she was probably right. My daughter was able to hide her swollen hand for some time. But because Securus Technologies is in place, she was able to get help. She confided in a friend over the phone that the swelling in her hand had not gone down and it had been at least a week since she injured it. She was determined not to tell anyone. However, upon hearing the recording, people were sent to go an look directly at her hand. Not only was it swollen, but it was still badly bruised. She was taken for X-rays. It was determined that she had a chip broken on the side of her hand. She was patched up real good and is now recovering. I am so grateful to Securus Technologies for being there to help her out. She never would have said anything. And that hand would have gotten much worse. Now that she is aware of the damage she could have caused herself, she is sorry too. There are many lessons to be learned. I am just thankful Securus Technologies was allowed to monitor conversations. As we see, it’s not always about privacy issues. Some issues need to be overheard and addressed. Such was the case of my daughter. Thank you again Securus Technologies.
Imagine a massive roomful of filing cabinets. Thousands upon thousands of files stacked on top of each other inside of poorly labeled cabinets. It is your job to go through these files to find specific keywords about a certain person. You need to find files that cross reference a particular set of other files. You could spend weeks in that room and still not find all the information you’re looking for.
Now imagine that entire file system digitized. You could sit at a computer and search keywords, cross reference other keywords, and pull up any files that have to do with each other. All of this would happen instantly and the computer would highlight the keywords for you so you could read only the important pieces. It would cut a month of work down to just a few hours. And the computer makes sure you don’t miss any information.
This kind of jump in productivity should be seen in the law enforcement community after Securus Technology just released its latest software called Investigator Pro 4.0 with voice search. Law enforcement can now run a suspects voice through software analysis. The software is then capable of picking up that voice’s signature. Law enforcement officials can then search a massive database of recorded phone calls in an instant, picking up every phone call involving that particular voice.
Every phone call coming into and going out of the prison facility made by an inmate is recorded by law enforcement. They have millions of minutes of digitized phone calls to search but Investigator Pro 4.0 allows them to search the digital information in an instant. The software is also capable of cross-referencing voices so law-enforcement can pull phone calls between two specific individuals. And, just like with the file cabinets, computers in sure that you do not make a mistake.
