Professionally referred to as Charlamagne Tha God, Lenard Larry was born on the 29th of June 1978. He is an American television personality and a radio presenter. In collaboration with DJ Envy and Angela Yee, he is the co-host of the renowned Breakfast Club radio show.
He is also featured in the Guy Court, Girl Code, and Guy Code. Charlamagne Tha God also works together with Sofi Green and DJ Envy in The Week Jams. In the year 2015, he started hosting the Uncommon Sense, the MTV2 show. Before moving to the show, he was the co-host of The Wendy Williams Experience in partnership with Wendy Williams.
In the year 2017, his book, Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It, was published by the Schuster and Simon imprint. New York Times’ Steven Kurutz reviewed the book and described it as one of the best books with advice on eight various principles. On the 7th of May 2017, his book was ranked at number six in the New York Times list of best-selling books.
Charlamagne Tha God took his time to discuss his second book, Shook One: Anxiety Playing Tricks On Me. He explained the book with Bill Rhoden highlighting his vulnerable part. The radio presenter talks of his struggles with anxiety and stress disorder, he also teaches on his decision to go to therapy.
He further says the book was inspired by the song, Shook Ones by Mobb. The song highlights his fears of attack and racism while growing up. The second part of the title, Anxiety Playing Tricks on Me, is a tribute to ” Mind Playing Tricks on Me,” a song by the Geto Boys. At the age of 39, Charlamagne opted for therapy on issues surrounding his anxiety. Charlamagne says he had a strong belief that treatment would help him deal with his fears, especially on his past. The star points out that he wants to make the world a better place for women.
